Dimitrios Paterakis

Dimitrios began his photographic journey at an early age, and over the years has navigated the world of film and photography, from analogue to digital film.

Starting out with a Super 8 camera, then switching to an SLR at university, Dimitrios has made the versatility of his tools his own and immersed himself in the discovery and know-how of the darkroom. Year after year he has explored every technological evolution and revolution that photography has undergone.

His commitment to continuing education has led him to take part in numerous photographic workshops, where he has honed his technical skills and deepened his understanding of art theory.

Influenced in his work by his travels in the Middle East, Asia, Australia and Africa, he focuses mainly on landscapes and people to capture the uniqueness of place and the very special emotion he feels. Dimitrios is constantly looking for new ways to reflect the natural, whole and unique beauty that surrounds him.

Dimitrios has been interested in digital photography since the early 1990s. Despite the initial discomfort, the immediacy of digital photography won him over. Using only manual settings at the start of his career, he was able to refine his ability to capture light, contrast and atmosphere.

Elected Fuji world ambassador - 2016, he took part in numerous group exhibitions in Greece, Belgium and Italy between 2018 and 2023. In 2023, he will be represented by Clio Galerie d'art at the art3f exhibition in La Roche sur Foron.
